When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.” ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship
Romans 6:7-8 For one who has died has been set free[b] from sin. 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
In the movie “The Outlaw Josie Wales”, Josie asks a fellow what he does for a living and the gentleman replies that he is a bounty hunter, and then Josie replies with a famous one liner: “Dying aint much of a way to make a living boy.” It’s ironic that in order to live one must die, because dying doesn’t seem like much of a way to live; yet I must willingly die of my own free will!
